Real Music. Real Artists. Real Royalties.

At RAW 96.9, we don’t believe in “exposure” as payment. If your music gets spins on our station, you should be positioned to collect the royalties you’re owed. We also put our money where our mouth is: when an indie record is available through legitimate purchase channels like the iTunes Store or directly from the artist’s website, we buy it and add it to our library. We can’t realistically hunt down and purchase every indie release on the internet, so we built a second lane on purpose: submissions.

If you know an artist who needs to be heard (or you are the artist), use our submission link to send your clean, properly labeled track for rotation consideration. If our audience responds and the record connects, we’ll purchase the single and lock it into regular rotation. But here’s the truth: many indie artists still miss out on money simply because they aren’t registered with the right organizations. We’re changing that by spotlighting the music and encouraging artists to have their paperwork right so their plays can be properly credited.

How to Make Sure You Get Paid

Indie artists can earn royalties when we play your music. Make sure your song metadata is correct, and you’re registered with SoundExchange (and a PRO if you wrote the song). The more listeners we have, the more it can add up. Here’s the checklist every artist should follow:

RAW 96.9 Artist Promise

  • We never charge you to play your music.

  • We don’t take a cut of your royalties.

  • We’ll point you to the tools to collect your money.

Your music, your rights, your bag.
